The House approves a Congressional Gold Medal for Norman Borlaug

Norman Borlaug reviews the corn cropReaders of this forum know that Jurisdynamics has urged the passage of H.R. 4924, the Congressional Tribute to Dr. Norman E. Borlaug Act of 2006. Dr. C.S. Prakash reports that the House of Representatives has just passed H.R. 4924. Because the Senate approved its version of this bill on October 18, all that remains is for President Bush to sign the bill. Surely the President will be very pleased to elevate Norman Borlaug into the ranks of Congressional Gold Medal recipients, which include "Dr. Martin Luther King, President Reagan, Pope John Paul II, Rosa Parks, Frank Sinatra, the Wright Brothers and Walt Disney."

Dr. Prakash invites readers interested in learning more about this heroic and visionary scientist to visit the page, Norman Borlaug: The Legend. In the meanwhile, Jurisdynamics and the Jurisdynamics Network thank the readers of this forum and all the blogs, bulletin boards, and listservs that helped spur Congress to honor Norman Borlaug, one of the greatest Americans -- and greatest human beings -- of all time.
