The unforgettable flood

According to Time magazine, megaband U2 has announced that it will contribute to the reconstruction of New Orleans, including the return of football to the Superdome, by debuting a new benefit single on Monday Night Football.

Another major rock band, Green Day, is collaborating with U2 on "The Saints Are Coming." The proceeds from the single will benefit Music Rising, an organization dedicated to replacing musical instruments lost to Hurricane Katrina.

Herewith a nonmusician's wish that these artists succeed wildly, so that New Orleans will cease being the boulevard of broken dreams.
